The Relation between Railway and the Transformation of Market Town Shape in the Inland Region of North China in 1905—1937

Some previous studies have delineated that the transformation of the market town shape is closely related to the development of the traffic, so the developing of railways is bound to exert a tremendous influence too. The article will take Zhumadian, Luohe, Tangshan, Jiaozuo, Shijiazhuang, Pindiquan etc as examples, to reveal the connection between the Railway and the transformation of the the market town shape in the inland region of North China in Modern Times in 1905-1937, by studying their industrial structure,social structure,regional structure and the outer shape. As a result, the transformation of the market town shapes are Zhumadian pattern,Tangshan pattern and Shijiazhuang pattern.
