The Ramie Fiber Properies Degummed with Biological Method

ZHONG An-hua(The Science and Technology University of Wuhan,Wuhan Hubei 430073,China)  
A method of easy and lower cost bacterial degumming was applied to treat ramie,and the property was studied.The results showed the gum rate left was 1.82%,the fabric structure of ramie was loosened,and no cellulase activity was observed.The biological dugumming increased 12%of dyes exhaustion.The single fiber strength was 0.15N/tex bigger than the chemical and the crystalline index was much more than that.This degumming method is an environmental friendly process.
