The Effect of Foot-and-mouth Disease Trivalent Vaccine on the Production of Frozen Semen of Holstein Bull

The objective of the study was to explore the effect of injection of Inactivated Foot-and-Mouth Disease(Type O, Type Asia 1,and Type A) Bivalent Vaccine on the production of frozen semen of Holstein bulls. After intramuscular injecting Inactivated Foot-and-Mouth Disease(Type O, Type Asia 1,and Type A)Trivalent Vaccine into Holstein bull of 2~11 years old, the difference of the volume per ejaculate, the sperm motility and theconcentration of fresh semen, the sperm motility, the abnormal sperm percentage and the production of frozen semen were analyzed statistically, when two weeks before the injection, the first week, the second week, the third week and the fourth week after the injection. Results showed that:(1)In Holstein bulls of 2~11years old, it had no significant difference in each period that the volume per ejaculate, the concentration and the sperm motility of fresh semen, the sperm motility of frozen semen(P0.05); the production of the first week and the abnormal sperm percentage of the second week were higher than that of two weeks before the injection(P0.05), and it had no significant difference in the other periods(P0.05).(2)In bulls of 2 years old, the abnormal sperm percentage of the second week was higher than that of two weeks before the injection(P0.05),and it had no significant difference in each period(P0.05).(3)In bulls of 3~5 years old, the abnormal sperm percentage of the second week were higher than that of the first week after the injection(P0.05),and it had no significant difference in the other periods(P0.05).(4)In bulls of 7~11 years old, the production and the abnormal sperm percentage of the first week were higher than that of two weeks before the injection(P0.05), and it had no significant difference in the other periods(P0.05). The conclusion could be drawn that there was no statistical differences in the volume per ejaculate, the sperm motility and the concentration of fresh semen, the sperm motility of frozen semen of Holstein bull kept for covering that the injection of Inactivated Foot-and-Mouth Disease(Type O, Type Asia 1 and Type A) Trivalent Vaccine, and had no adverse effect on the production, and induced the higher of the abnormal sperm percentage of frozen semen, and these statistical differences in different stages of the age were different.
