Application of tanning agent synthesized with starch modified acrylamide and aluminum complex

The starch,acrylamide and aluminum sulfate were used as raw materials. The emulsion polymerization was used to graft acrylamide monomer on the starch chain. And then made it coordinate with the aluminum ion to produce a kind of complex tanning agent. Comparing the effect of its application in leather tanning,retanning,dyeing and fatliquoring,we can obtain that the optimum dosage of the tanning agent is 6%( based on the mass of wet- blue leather). According to the measurement of the chromium content in waste liquor of chrome tanning,the tanning agent can improve the chromium absorption rate of leather and it also can greatly reduce the content of chromium in waste liquid,thus reducing the pollution to environment. By analyzing the performance of the leather after retanning,it is found that the tanning agent has good filling performance and it can effectively improve fullness and hydrothermal stability of leather,also the tanning agent can make leather surface colored evenly.
