A Wavelet-Based Method of Neuron Discharge Extraction for Parkinson's Patient

The position of the microelectrodc is localized according to the characteristic of neuron discharge during microelectrode guided stereotactic operation for parkinson's disease. The components of the neuron discharge signal,which containing noises and the baseline drifting, are very complx and easily disturbed by many factors.it is very difficult to distinguish the neuron discharge from the microelectrode recording. A new non-linear method is provided for extracting the neuron discharge wave, which decomposing the signal by wavelets, squaring the wavelet transform coefficients of avail information, and reconstructing the signal.The process result of the signals of 112 parkinson's patients has proved that the method is efficiency to extract neuron discharge and weed out noise.
