Application of Comprehensive Harnessment Techniques in Mining Remains Areas and Its Benefits

Gold mining remains amounts to 16 million m~(3) in Zhaoyuan City, occupying 407 hm~(2) of land. Mining remains constitutes most of sludge in rivers and reservoirs. To prevent loss of mining remains, 65 check dams have been built in Zhaoyuan City, with a remains holding capacity of 9 million m~(3). 187 hm~(2) of land has been improved by conservering soil, among which 100 hm~(2) has been cultivated with various crops in addition to 87 hm~(2) of fruit tress. 11 mining remains filling projects have been constructed , annually filling 0. 53 million m~(3). 3 brick-making plants have been built with a total investment of 29. 3 million yuan, annually consuming 130 thousand m~(3) of mining remains, 23. 52 million yuan of direct benefits has been generated by comprehensive harnessmenl of mining remains areas.
