A Novel Antigen PTA1 Expressed on Rhesus Monkey Activated T Lymphocytes

Liu Xuesong, et al (Department of Immunology, the Fourth Military Medical University Xi'an)
with human T lymphocyte activation antigen/platelet anti-CD25 and PTA1 McAb indirect immunofluorescent staining the expression of CD25 or PTA1 antigen on Rhesus monkey PBMC and investigated by FMC analysis. The results showed that CD25 and PTA1 antigen did not express on resting Rhesus monkey PBMC, while high lcvcls of CD25 and PTA1 cxprcssion on Rhcsus monkey PBMC activatcd by PHA in vitro or from the Rhesus monkey with administration of rHuTNF-α for 2 months could be detected. These results suggested that PTA1 antigen could be used as a novel surface marker of activated Rhesus monkey T lymphocytes, which may be useful in the study of PTA1 molecular structrue and function as well as in the primate model uesd for observation of cellular immunity.
