We used the in vitro bioassay to analyse the secreting levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) during menstrual cycle of the female rhesus monkey. The results showed that: the surge of FSH arised on 10.2±1.0 day in the menstrual cycles, and the peak value was 57.2±4.8ng/ml; the surge of LH arised on the 12.0±1.6 day, and the peak value was 96.3±9.7ng/ml. It was 7 to 8 times of the mean value of LH during follicular and luteal phase. The results indicated that secreting peak of FSH and that of LH are not coincident during menstrual cycle in rhesus monkeys.
