Clinical study on artificial negative-air-ions-therapy to improve the sleep quality of insomnic patients

Objective:To explore the treatment effect and the mechanism of action on artificial negative-air-ions-therapy to the sleep quality of insomnic patients.Methods:60 patients which were made up of 28 patients from Hongkong Queen Mary Hospital and 32 patients from our association were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group.Each group has 30 patients.The experimental group and the control group were treated by Negative Air Ions Generator(XH-A8 Type Oxygen Guard) and Negative Air Ions Vitamin Generator respectively.With Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale(PSQI)assessed sleep quality in pretherapy and posttreatment.Results:In contrast with pretherapy,after treatment sleep quality index in experimental group and control group were both significantly improved(P0.01).In contrast with the control group,Negative Air Ions Generator(XH-A8 Type Oxygen Guard) produced better efficacy in improving sleep quality of patients with insomnia(χ2=7.7524,P0.05).Conclusion:Artificial Negative-air-ions-therapy which can evidently improve sleep quality of patients with insomnia is an effective non-drug therapy with exact effect and less side effects.The therapy should be widely applied.
