RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GENOMOSPECIES OF CITROBACTER FREUNDII AND THE CHILDREN WITH DIARRHEA

citrobacter freundii complex strains from the children with diarrhea were identified to the species on the basis of the recently proposed taxonomic changer of Brenner et al. It was identified as 4 genomospecies. Within the C. freundii complex, C. freundii predominated overall (56.7%), followed by C. braakii (20.0%), C.younger (13.3%), C. werkmanii (10.0%). We looked for their presence in the stools of 1457 Children with diarrhea as well as in 94 controls. C.freundii complex were isolated from 164(11.25%) patients and 4 controls (4.26%) (p0.05). 40stains (C.freundii27, C.youngae4, C. braakii6, C. werkmanii3) were tested for heat-stable (ST) and heat-labil (LT) enterotoxin by GeneProbe, PCR, rabbit intestine loop test. No ST-producing orgnisms were found. Positive rate of LT was 36.5-47.1%. Positive strains was from C.freundii, C.braakii, C.werkmanii. It is showed that relationship between genomospecies of C.freundii and the children with diarrhea, Analyzed for antibiotic resistance have in dicated that 10% strains produce extend-spectrum beta-lactamases.
