Enffluence of environmental factors on adhesion of Rhodotorula glutinis to flounder mucus

Objective To investigate the effect of pH,temperature,divalentions on adhesion of Rhodotorula glutinis to the intestinal mucus of Japanese flounder and the adhesive properties of R.glutinis at different growth phase.Method The adhesive ability of R.glutinis to flounder mucus was detected with MTT colorimetric assay in vitro.Results It was shown that adhesive quantity of R.glutinis increased along with temperature at 10~30 ℃.The higher adhesive ability was achieved at neutral and acid condition.It was also observed that Calciumions could enhance the adhesive ability of R.glutinis to flounder mucus significantly,but Magnesium ions had no effect on the adhesion of R.glutinis.The adhesive quantity of R.glutinis at lag and exponential growth phases were higher than that of stationary and decline phases.Conclusion The adhesive ability of R.glutinis to intestinal mucus was not only affected by different environment factors,but also by its own physiological status.
