LIU Wei-qi;Department of Stomatology,Songyang People's Hospital;
Objective To discuss the influence of malocclusion correction by fixed appliance on oral microecological environment. Methods 51 patients with malocclusion,who accepted correction by fixed appliance in the Department of Stomatology were selected,and the oral microbes were cultivated before and after the treatment respectively. The changes of oral microecology before and after the rectification were observed and compared. Results One month after the rectification,the detection rates of Porphyromonas gingivalis,Bacterium actinomycetem comitans and Bacteroides melanogenicus in mouth increased than before( P 0. 05),while the detection rates of Nucleic acid bacillus and Actinomyces israelii showed no obvious changes( P 0. 05). After 2,4 and 6 month,the detection rates of all the 5 bacteria were higher than those before the rectification( P 0. 05 or P 0. 01). Conclusion The application of fixed appliance on malocclusion will cause the changes of oral microecology and destroy the balance in oral environment,which can easily result in the occurrence of oral disease and thus should be prevented treated early.
