Gut microflora induce type 2diabetes mellitus:progress in researches

Diabetes is a kind of metabolic disease characterized with elevated fasting glucose level.The incidence of the disease is increasing globally year by year,resulting complications that involve heart,eyes,kidney and nervous system,causing serious damages to human health.However,its pathogenesis is still not totally clear.As the body′s largest micro-ecosystem,intestinal flora affects the substances and energy metabolism in human body.A number of studies showed that intestinal flora is closely related to the development of diabetes,although the specific mechanism remains unknown.This paper briefly reviewed the mechanism of the induction of type 2diabetes mellitus by intestinal dysbacteriosis,and discussed the feasibility of treating type 2diabetes through regulating intestinal flora,so as to provide reference for further studies on gut bacteria and type 2diabetes.
