Bibliometric study on intestinal flora and traditional Chinese medicine

Objective To analyze the developing trends of domestic literature on intestinal flora and traditional Chinese medicine,and provide references for future studies in this area.Methods Using CNKI database as the data resource,this paper analyzed the literatures on intestinal flora and traditional Chinese medicine from bibliometric′s prospective.Results As of December 31,2016,a total of 786 literature papers were retrieved.There had been an increasing number of published papers since 2003.There were 15 institutions which put more than 10 papers into print;the top one published 42 papers.25.70% of the published papers were funded by various research funds,and were mainly in the form of experimental study report.Papers of this kind accounted for 37.79% of the total papers.On the whole,the citation per paper was pretty low:papers with a citation of no more than two accounted for 60.43%.Conclusion The researches in the field of intestinal flora and traditional Chinese medicine need be improved;researchers should pay special attention to enhancing the quality whilst boosting the quantity of research papers.
