Effects of Changlekang on intestinal microbiota and intestinal mucosal barrier function in patients with HBV-induced cirrhosis

LYU Jinlan;Department of Infectious Diseases,Haining People′s Hospital;
Objective To explore the alterations of intestinal microbiota and intestinal mucosal barrier function in patients with HBV-induced cirrhosis after Changlekang treatment.Methods 87 patients with HBVinduced liver cirrhosis were enrolled,including 48 patients in treatment group and 39 as the controls.All patients were treated with the same conventional symptomatic therapy for liver protection;those in treatment group were additionally given Changlekang for 8 weeks.The changes in intestinal microbiota and intestinal mucosal barrier function,and systemic inflammatory response after treatment were evaluated.Results After treated with Changlekang,the amounts of ClostridiaI and XI and Bifidobacteria were significantly increased,while those of Enterobacteriaceae and Enterococci were significantly decreased;The levels of D-lactic acid,endotoxin(LPS),diamine oxidase(DAO)and proinflammatory cytokines TNF-αand IFN-γin serum were significantly decreased,while that of anti-inflammatory factor IL-10 was significantly increased.Conclusion Changlekang can restore the intestinal microbiota and improve intestinal mucosal barrier function in patients with HBV-induced cirrhosis while effectively reduce the systemic inflammatory response,which can be used as an effective adjuvant therapy to prevent the progression of HBV-induced cirrhosis.
