Epidemiological analysis on emergency public health events at schools in Lincang city 2007-2014

Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics and analyze various factors of the emergency public health events,which provide scientific evidences and related strategies for efficient prevention and control. Methods Descriptive epidemiological method was utilized to analyze the data of the emergency public health events at schools from Emergency Public Reporting System in Lincang city during 2007-2014. Results It was reported 81 emergency public health events at schools in Lincang city during 2007-2014,of which 69 infectious diseases events and 12 food-poisoning events,accounting for 85. 19% and 14. 81%,respectively. There were 4 951 cases of diseases and one death( 0. 02% of the total),involving 72 464 people. The peaks of the emergency public health events at schools occurred from March to April and from September to December. In general,it was reported more in the rural schools. The respiratory diseases took a large part of infectious diseases events at schools,and the larger scale mainly existed in flu and other infectious diarrhea. Conclusion The respiratory diseases take a large part of infectious diseases events in Lincang city during 2007-2014.The emergency public health events occur frequently at schools,especially in elementary schools in rural area.
