Investigation on the influence of the noise of the elevated light rail on the environment

Objective To understand the impact of the elevated light rail noise on the surrounding environment in the city.Methods The noises were determined in the university( teaching building and office building),the hospital( outpatient building and patient building) and the market around the line one light rail in Nanjing. Results( 1) When the train through,the noises on the first,third,fifth floor of the teaching building( windows were open) were 57. 0,57. 4,56. 3 d B( A) respectively. When the train through,the noises on the first,third,fifth floor of the office building( windows were open) were 58. 9,63. 8,63. 9 d B( A). All of them went beyond the limit 55 d B( A).( 2) When the train through,the noises on the first、third floor of the outpatient building( windows are open) were 66. 7 d B( A),61. 5 d B( A). When the train through,the noises on the first,third,sixth,ninth floor of the patient building were 60. 3 d B( A),55. 5,57. 1,56. 9 d B( A). All of them went beyond the limit 55 d B( A).( 3) When the train through,the noises on the first,second,third floor of the market were 67. 2 d B( A),65. 8 d B( A),68. 1 d B( A). All of them went beyond the limit 60 d B( A).( 4) Closing the window could reduce the noise 10. 6 d B( A) in average while the train through. Conclusion When train through,the noises of the school,the hospital,the market all go beyond the limit( windows are open). Closing the window can reduce the noise obviously. Something must be done to reduce noise pollution.
