Identification of occupational hazards and analysis of critical control points in a communication components company

Objective To analyze the occupational hazards and critical control points in a communication components company. Methods The methods of check lists,occupational hygiene investigation,occupational exposure monitoring and engineering analysis were applied for occupational hazards identified and assessed. Results The major occupational hazards in the production process included chemical toxicants( benzene,toluene,xylene,ethyl benzene,styrene,butyl alcohol,isopropyl alcohol,tin smoke and lead smoke,etc.),dust,high temperature and noise. The occupational hazard factors monitoring results showed that the concentration of xylene exceeded the national standard in spray paint room of Building D,the rest were in line with the national standards. The concentrations of dust were in line with the national standards. The noise intensity were detected at 130 points,6 of which( 4. 6%) exceeded 85 d B( A),and the noise intensity of punch room was the maximum,for 95. 6 d B( A). The individual noise intensity were detected at 15 operating posts,5 of which exceeded occupational exposure limit( OEL). Conclusion The occupational hazard factors are more complex,the main factors are noise,xylene and isopropyl alcohol,should be strengthened to occupational hazards control and prevention according to the critical control parts.
