Investigation on radioactivity level of drinking water and source water in the area of Yanbian

Objective To investigate and study for levels of the radioactivity in water in 2014,for the comprehensive utilization of water system of Yanbian area,provide the basis of existing problems in the border area and countermeasures analysis in drinking water with different water quality. Methods Yanbian state consisted of five cities and counties for the sampling points( Helong City,Longjing,Antu County,Tumen,Hunchun city) on each sampling point 10 water samples were collected,totally 50 copies. the BH1217 type low background alpha / beta radiation measuring instrument were applied to determine The total alpha and total beta radioactivity in water by steam dry method which was used to detect the residue. Results The qualified rate of the total beta radioactive project in Yanbian's five border areas had reached 100%,the residue was not linear with the total alpha radiation,but had a linear relationship with the total beta radiation,the higher the residue,the lower the total radioactive value. Conclusion Monitoring results show that the water body of the Yanbian region is in normal natural radioactive background level in 2014.
