Investigation on occupational hazards in a ethylene glycol production line

Objective To identify and analyze occupational hazards of the ethylene glycol production line,put forward critical control points of the occupational hazards and special requirements of protection. Methods Field investigation of occupational health,occupational health analysis and detection of occupational risk factors were applied. Results The main occupational hazard factors in the ethylene glycol production line were dust,poisonous chemicals,noise. According to detection results of the production line,concentration of dust exposed 2 jobs workers were inspected,that of 2 jobs workers were less than the standard limits,CTWAfor dust were 0. 7-2. 4 mg/m~3. Concentrations of poisons such as carbon monoxide,methanol,ethylene glycol,nitrogen dioxide,hydrogen sulfide,hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide met the national occupational exposure limits. Noise equivalent sound level of 11 jobs was inspected,LEX,8h noise intensities of 11 were64. 8-82. 1 d B( A),lower than the occupational exposure limits. Conclusion The practical and feasible preventive facilities and measures including contents of occupational health management,engineering prevention measures,individual protective particles should be strengthened,and occupational health surveillance should be adopted.
