Analysis and discussion of water hammer in ABSL-2 laboratory steam pipe system

Objective To analyze the causes of water hammer in the steam pipe system of laboratory animal center ABSL-2 laboratory,and to put forward some solutions.Methods The basic situation of laboratory animal center steam piping system was analyzed.In view of pipeline design,type selection of trap,location of hydrophobic point,set water tank,artificial operation and so on,in-depth analysis was carried out.Results Due to the unreasonable pipeline design,the incorrect selection of the trap,the reasonable location of the drainage point,set up the sump and standardize system operation rules to eliminate pipeline vibration,running noise,equipment blockage,valve companent damage and so on daring steam operation. Through the design of reasonable diameter and inclination,according to the steam trap,the right way to choose the hydrophobic binding position,hydrophobic front-end pipeline set a reasonable set of water tank,start the installation of electronic control valve and other measures,scientifically and effectively solved water hammer steam pipe system.Conclusion Effective and feasible measures should be taken to reduce the occurrence of water hammer in pipe system of laboratory animal center ABSL-2 laboratory and improve the level of biosafety laboratory guarantee,provide some experience for future design and management of experimental animal center steam piping system.
