Advance in Effects of microRNA on Reproductive Axis and Embryo Implantation

As an important way of regulating gene expression, epigenetic regulation in reproductive endocrinology has been increasingly reported. MiRNA is one kind of small non-coding RNAs and also an epigenetic factor which can participate in many pathological and physiological processes. Many studies had confirmed that miRNA plays an important regulatory role in mammalian reproduction. In this review, we present the expression levels of miRNA in mammalian reproductive organs, and effects on embryo implantation of miRNAs. It can contribute to our understanding of epigenetic regulation of miRNAs in reproduction, which may provide a theoretical basis for improving mammalian reproductive capacity.
