EFFECT OF FRUCTOSE 1,6 DIPHOSPHATE ON LIPOPEROXIDATION IN CHILDREN WITH VIRAL MYOCARDITIS

Chang Wenlian;Chen Ming(First Hospital for Workers and Staff,Wuhan Iron& steel Corporation)
The level of plasma lipoperoxidate(LPO)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)was measured in 49 children with viral myocarditis and the effect of fructose 1,6 diphosphate(FDP)on LPO and SOD was investigated. The children were divided into two groups:FDP was given to the treatment group(n=22),10% Glucose to the control group(n=27).The results showed that LPO was higher and the SOD was lower in children with viral myocarditis than in the normal control.Compared with Glucose control group,FDP treatment significantly reduced LPO level but did not increase SOD level. Our findings suggested that FDP was an effective antioxants for cardioprotection.
