A STUDY ON THE STABILITY OF FLUE-CURED TOBACCO FOR VALUE & YIELD

Song Mei;Chen Xueping Beijing Cigarette Factory Dept. of Leaf Tob. Sci., Hefei Insti. of Econ. & Tech. Hefei, Anhui
The stability of flue-cured tobacco coltivars for yield, value and average price (AP) wes analysed with the methods of Eberhart Russell and Francis Kannerberg.A varietal sequence of stability was derived from each method. The four stability parameters, mean (x),regression coefficient (b),regression deviation (Sd) and variation coefficient (c.v%),were accumulated with the weightless method in the light of the seqence. The varietal stability formusing these methods was studied synthetically among the cultivars. The data of 7 varieties were obtained from 13 experimenfal areas in the Huang-Huai Flue-cured Tobacco Region in 1990.The cultivar 8611 had the highest yield value and better stability. The two cultivars,8608 and G-140,were second and third respectively. The stability of the yield and comprensive characters of the yieed and quelity could be used to decide the potential of the usefulness of the new cultivars.Although the yield value mainly consisted of the yield and the average price, their relations were not linear. The correlation co- efficients among three characters were not significant. The result showed that there was only minor dif- firence with the ones by the other two methods.
