Risk Assessment and Input Source Analysis of Heavy Metals in the Soil of Tobacco-planting Regions of Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province

The samples of soil, fertilizer and irrigation water were collected in tobacco field in Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province, and the contents of As, Cd, Cr, Hg and Pb in these samples were determined in laboratory. The input sources of heavy metals in the soil were also calculated and analyzed. The results showed that heavy metal contents in the fertilizers and irrigation water were both below the limit standards. The contents of As and Cr in compound fertilizers, Cr in phosphate fertilizers, Cd and Hg in organic fertilizers made up more than 17% of total input sources of the according heavy metals in the soil. These metals in those fertilizers are therefore the key of source control, especially in organic fertilizers. The Cd inputted into soil in the tobacco-planting season was 0.81% of total Cd in topsoil, which was higher than those of As, Cr, Hg and Pb. Therefore, Cd should be given primary importance among priorities in controlling of heavy metals in tobacco-planted soils of Fuzhou.
