Relationship between photosynthesis characteristic and yield of sunflower hybrid under summer seeding

CUI Liang-ji, LIANG Guo-zhan, WANG De-xing ( Institute of Oil Crops, Liaoning Academy of Agriculture Sciences, Shenyang 110161, China )  
Under summer seeding in 1997, the leaf area indexes were variable depending on hybrids (varieties) used. Maximum leaf area index was 2.23 for LK23. Average net photosynthetic rate was 8.97g/m 2·d for the sunflower hybrids tested. The sustained time of leaf area for sunflower population was a important factor to effect on physiological yield. Photosynthetic time for every sunflower hybrid and it's physiological yield and kernel yield showed a significant positive relation.
