Treatment of gastric cancer with liver metastasis by indwelling hepatoarterial catheter chemotherapy in 23 cases

Objective To observe the efficacy of hepatoarterial catheter chemotherapy in treating gastric cancer with liver metastasis.Methods The observation group consisted of 23 cases.The indwelling catheter was inserted in the left subclavian artery,and fixed to proper hepatic artery.EFP scheme chemotherapy was applied for 4 cycles,the therapeutic efficacy was evaluated and follow up visit was carried out.For control group consisting of 26 cases,EFP scheme venous chemotherapy was adopted.Results The short term effectiveness of the observation group was 100%,survival rates of 1,2,3 years were 100%,73.9%,39.1% respectively and there were slight toxic and side effects.The short term effective rate of control group is 23.1%,survival rate of 1,2,3,years are 57.7% ,30.8% and 11.5% respectively and there were severe toxic and side effects.There was obvious difference between the two group( P 0.05).Conclusion This method is an effective method with slight side effects,and is worthy of further research.
