Objective To detect the expression of HER-2/nue protein and epidermal growth factor receptor( EGFR) in gastric cancer tissues, and to explore its correlation with gastric cancer pathology and prognosis. Methods From January 2013 to October 2016,73 patients underwent gastric cancer were selected as the observation group, and 70 individuals with normal gastric mucosa were selected as the control group. The expression of HER-2 nue protein and EGFR protein in the tissue samples were detected by immunohistochemical method. The relationship between the expression level of the 2 proteins and the clinicopathological features were analyzed. Results The positive expression rate of HER-2/nue protein and EGFR was 22( 30. 1%) and 29( 39. 7%),respectively in the gastric cancer tissues and the positive expression rate of the two proteins was 0. 0% in the normal gastric mucosa tissues( all P 0. 05). The expression of HER-2/nue and EGFR was not significantly associated with the gender, age, site, size and differentiation( P 0. 05),but rather it was closely related to the depth of tumor infiltration, lymph node metastasis or distant metastasis and clinical TNM staging( all P 0. 05). The median survival time was 10. 1 months and 11. 0 months in patients with positive expression of HER-2/nue and EGFR. The median survival time was 64. 5 months and 65. 2 months in patients with negative expression of HER-2/nue and EGFR. There was significance in the median survival time( all P 0. 05). Conclusion The expression of HER-2/nue protein and EGFR can be used as an important reference indexes for the diagnosis and evaluation of gastric cancer.
