Objective To analyze the effect of perioperative nursing intervention on the occurrence of heart failure in elderly patients with lung cancer. Methods Sixty-six patients with advanced lung cancer undergoing radical surgery were enrolled at Ankang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January2016 to January 2018. They were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 33 patients in each group. The observation group was given perioperative nursing and the control group was given conventional nursing. Incidence of complications, length of hospital stay, satisfaction with care,Hamilton anxiety scale( HAMA),Hamilton depression rating scale( HAMD) score, basic life ability score, and quality of life score were compared. Results After operation, the overall incidence of complication was6. 1% for the observation group and 24. 2% for the control group( P 0. 05). Length of hospital stay was lower in the observation group than in the control group and satisfaction with care was higher in the observation group than in the control group( all P 0. 05). Before surgery, there was no significant difference in HAMA and HAMA scores, basic viability and quality of life between the two groups( P 0. 05). After the surgery,HAMA and HAMA scores decreased and basic viability and quality of life increased in both groups with the observation group better than the control group( P 0. 05). After the surgery, indicators including carbon dioxide partial pressure, mean arterial pressure, serum creatinine, cardiac output and left ventricular ejection fraction were significantly better in the the observation group than in the control group( all P 0. 05). Conclusion Perioperative effective nursing intervention can reduce the incidence of complications and improve the quality of life in elderly patients with lung cancer. It is worthy of clinical application.
