Objective To investigate the application of comfort care in three-way valve-based peripherally inserted central catheters( PICC) chemotherapy in pediatric hematologic neoplasms and its effects on the incidence of adverse reactions. Methods A total of 100 children with hematological neoplasms admitted to Hunan Children's Hospital from March 2016 to September 2017 were selected for study. They were randomly divided into a study group and a control group with 50 children in each group according to the numerical table method. Both groups were treated with three-way valve based PICC chemotherapy. The study group was given comfortable care on the basis of routine care and the control group was given routine care.Clinical efficacy, adverse reactions, quality of care, and family members' satisfaction with the nursing were compared between the two groups after treatment. Results The clinical efficiency was 88. 0% for the study group which was significantly higher than 62. 0% of the control group( P 0. 05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 26. 0% for the study group which was significantly lower than in the control group( P 0. 05). Quality of care including nursing altitude, professional skill, health education and psychological intervention were significantly higher in the study group than in the control group( all P 0. 05). Family members' satisfaction with the nursing was 94. 0% in the study group which was significantly higher than72. 0% of the control group( P 0. 05). Conclusion The use of comfortable care can improve clinical efficiency, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, improve the quality of care and family members' satisfaction with the nursing in pediatric patients with hematologic neoplasms receiving three-way valve-based PICC chemotherapy. It is worth of promotion and adoption in clinical practice.
