Study on Cutter Flute Produced by Standard Grinding Wheel Through Characteristic Line Method

Standard wheel is widely used in cutter grinding.This paper uses the characteristic line method to get the flute.By getting characteristic line of the grinding wheel's surface and according to the grinding wheel's project expressions,the end section of the cutter can be got.The author then found a method to describe the end section of the flute.An experiment was made on a 6UPS parallel tool-grinding machine to certificate the shape of the flute,which was got through characteristic line method.
