Optimization Design for the Bed Structure of Broach Grinder Based on FEM Analysis

The machine bed is the key part of machine tool.The dynamic and static characteristics of the bed directly influence the working accuracy and stability of the machine tool.The finite element models of QMK008 broach grinder beds were established at the design stage.Based on the finite element method,the deformations in working conditions and modals of original design were obtained.The original design was improved based on the structure characteristics and stiffness requirements.According to the finite element analysis results,it was found that the deformations can be reduced and dynamic characteristics can be improved by using the "*" shape ribs or increasing the anchor bolts,but the increasing thickness of the walls and ribs can't improve the stiffness of the bed.
