Research on Ductile-regime Grinding to Aspheric Profile of Optical Glass

In this paper,by testing the hardness and the fracture toughness of the optical glass,the critical grinding depth of the optical glass can be calculated.The conclusion has been reached that it is suitable to use the MK-9025 curve grinding machine to grind the aspheric surface,though analyzing those influence factors: the maximum grinding depth of a single grain,the speed of the work piece,the speed of the grinding wheel,the granularity between grinding particles and so on.Then,by using the metal-bonded fine grain diamond grinding wheel,choosing appropriate grinding dosage,setting up the processing program automatically by the software MasterCAM,A high bright and clean surface has been obtained in this experiment grinded by MK-9025 numerical control optics curve grinding machine.The above achievement can provide basis for practical production.
