The observation of surviving-time of isolated human fetal cortical cells

Zhang Feng; Qi Yan-chao; Lu Fa-gen, et al. (Department of Neurosurgery, Second Affiliated Hospital, Henan Medical University, Zhengzhou 450003)
Cortical cell suspension was got from 12 cases of fetal cadaver in 16 ̄26 week gestation by mechanical method. The Trypan blue exclusive and fluorescein diacetate uptake tests were used to examine the viability. The viability at the first hour after isolation was 48.38% in the donors of 16 ̄20 week gestation, 38. 71% in those of 20 ̄24 week gestation and 29.92% in 24 ̄26 week gestation. The preservation prolonged, the viabilities descended gradually. The viability at 4℃ was higher than that at 37℃. The results showed that: the better donor age was 16 ̄20 weeks; the duration of preservation should be limited within two hours. the earlier the better; 4℃ was suitable for cortical tissue preservation.
