EVALUATON OF HEMATOPOlETlC STEM CELLSAND THElR SUBPOPULATlONS lN THE NORMAL BONEMARROW,THE UMBlLlCAL-CORD BLOOD AND THEPERlPHERAL BLCOD AFTER CHEMOTHERAPY

s to quantitate the number of hematopoietic progeni-tors for an effective transplant,the hematopoieticstem cells and their subpopulations coexpressed by lin-eage-associated antigens from bone marrow (BM);um-bilical-cord blood(UB) and product of leukaphereses(LK)were evaluated by duol-color immunofluorescencewith FACStar.Total cells were higher in BM(2.89±0.91%)and in LK (2.58± 0.75%)than in UB(0.88±0.41%)./LIN ̄+ cells,contained were elevated in LKand in UB.But/LIN ̄-cells,especially cells,were much more in BM.The ratio between CFU-GM and cells,which represent the ability of differ-entiation of cells into myeloid lineage,was smallerin LK than in BM and in UB.
