Effects of Different Saline and Alkaline Stress on Seed

In order to study the salt tolerance of cotton seeds under different salt and alkali stress.Six varieties of cotton(X 45,X 61,Z 73,Z 92,L 24 and L 28)were selected as the object of study,and three stress types of NaCl,Na_2SO_4 and Na_2CO_3+NaHCO_3 were set up.The effects of different salt types and concentration treatments on cotton seed germination were analyzed.Under these three stresses,germination factor,daily germination rate,relative germination index,relative germination potential and relative germination rate of each cultivar decreased with the increase of salt concentration.The same concentration of neutral salt,Na_2SO_4 stress more serious than NaCl stress,When the concentration of Na_2SO_4 was 300 mmol/L,all seeds were not germinated.In the Na_2CO_3+NaHCO_3 solution pH=8.60 to promote the germination of L 28,when the pH=9.03 inhibited,at pH=10.47 all varieties no germination.The results showed that the dominant varieties were L 24 and Z 92,which were composed of NaCl and Na_2SO_4,and the dominant varieties of Na_2CO_3+NaHCO_3 were L 24 and X 45.
