Preliminary Identification of Endogenous Inhibitors in Crataegus viridis Seeds

To know the dormancy mechanism of the C.viridis seeds clearly,the method of system solvent separation was used to separate the petroleum ether phase,the ether phase,the ethyl acetate phase,the methanol phase and the water phase of the seeds of the C.viridis.Also the germination of non-dormant cabbage seeds were used to determine the biological activity of these five phases.The components of endogenous inhibitors that caused the dormancy of C.viridis seeds were analyzed by GC-MS.The results showed:1)The solution of extraction phase of the C.viridis seeds had some inhibitory effects on the germination of cabbage seeds.Among them,the strongest inhibitory effect was found in the ether phase,followed by the methanol phase.2)Further separation and identification by GC-MS showed that the endogenous inhibitors presented in C.viridis seeds were mainly composed of phenols,esters,organic acids etc,as well as several unknown substances.
