Thinning flower of Chinese bayberry by Thinner 5 and Thinner 6:

In the southern parts of China, Chinese bayberry (Myrica rubra) has various yields in the alternative years, leading to serious problem in balance supplies and fruit quality. Through an investigation of six years, we found that on using Thinner 5 of 50-200 times diluted solution, or 50-100 ppm Thinner 6 at the full flowering stage in the higher yielding year, the fruit-setting rate of Chinese bayberry is reduced by 45-60%, its mature stage is 6-7 days earlier than the normal one and its fruit is larger with higher dry weight. Moreover, in the coming lower yielding year, new sprouts develop early and well. Especially, using Thinner 5 and Thinner 6, the effective fruiting sprouts is significantly increased by 4 51 and 5 07 times as compared with control. As a result, the yield is able to be raised in the lower yielding year. The effects of Thinner 5 and Thinner 6 is much better than those of MET.
