Revelation from Breeding of Zhongzheyou 1,an Indica Super Hybrid Rice with Good Grain Quality

The major technical and innovative points in breeding of Zhongzheyou 1,an indica super hybrid rice,and its parents Zhongzhe A and Hanghui 570,were introduced and analyzed.It is indicated that heterotic indica rice hybrids combining ideal plant type with fine grain quality can be developed by breeding male sterile lines trans-ferred from desirable quality parents originated from the low latitude area in South Asia and mating them with ideal plant type restorer lines in China.
