Cao Wen-wei;Zheng De-min and Yao Ke一yang(Department of Biology,Liaoning Nortmal University,Dalian 116022)Cai Miao-ying and Zhao Yu-feng(Institute of Microbiology,Academic Sinia, Beijing 100800)  
strains of contaminating bacteria were isolated fromthe fermentation broth of Erythromycin and were identified,of all the 45strains there are 39 strains belonging to 8 species of the genus Bacillus,5 strains to the genus Micrococcos and l strain is non-sporeforming rodbacteriurm The fermentation of Erythromycin was artificially contaminated by 39strains of Bacillus.Those of B,coaglans,B.subtillis,B.licheniformis,B. cereus and B. firmus resulted in significantly decrease the productionof Erythromycin;B. brevis had litle influence on the fementation;B.megateriam and B,pumilus increased the pr oduction of Erythrolnycin,theformer increased by 47.8%,the latter by 24%.
