The Form and Image of Ode to the Goddess of the River Luo

There are many copies named Gu Kaizhi of Ode to the Goddess of the River Luo, which are slightly different in brushwork and colour-arranging. As they are copied from the same original, their painting techniques and images are basically similar. The copies are full of the romantic charm of the ancient times for the magic and peculiar shapes, the fluent lines and the exquisite space composition. Through the form analysis and comparison of different documents, the paper focuses on the space construction and the relationship among artistic elements to approach the cultural connotation of Ode to the Goddess of the River Luo from the ontological angle. Furthermore, the current author makes an analysis of its artistic characteristics and image connotation on the basis of the relationship between art and visual perception and evaluates its artistic quality according to the traditional painting literary theory.
