An Applied Anatomical Study of the Transfistular Removal of Residual Bile Duct Stones under Fiber Cholangioscopy and/or Cholangiography

Ma Fu. Department of Anatomy, the First Medical College of PLA
The bile ducts were studied on 20 cast specimens of human liver and 20 ordi-nary adult liver specimens in order to provide some anatomical data about the trans-fistular removal of residuat bile duct stone under fiber cholangioscopy and/or thecannulation for cholangiography. The external diameters, lengths, and angles be-tween two neighboring ducts of the various levels of bile ducts were measured.Thedata are of value for reference in determing the depth of cannulation and identify-ing the duct orifices in cholangioscopy.
