Objective:To avoid iliohypogastric nerves lesion during appendectomy,it is important to decide the incised direction and separated scopeMethods:Iliohypogastric nerves were observed on 53 sides (male 29,female 24) of right abdomenResults:The course and constituent of the iliohypogastric are not constant,it could be divided into single branch (623%),double branches (38%),common trunk with ilioinguinal nerves (226%) There are 982% of the iliohypogastric nerve cross the umbilicalspine line in the range of 1~40 mm medical to the anterosuperior iliac spine, and 927% of the nerve cross the line 10 mm outside of Mc Burney′s point. Conclusions:When Mc Burney′s point incision is chosen in appendectomy,to avoid iliohypogastric nerves injury, the incision and umbilicalspine line should be a right angle, and the separation should not be performed 1~40 mm inside anterosuperior iliac spine or extend 10 mm outside of the Mc Burney′s point
