Influence of Phosphorus Deficiency Stress on Acid Phosphatase Isozymes in Addition Lines Between Common Wheat and Agropyron elongatum

Using a set of alien disomic addition lines of Chinese Spring Agropyron elongatum (2n=2x=14,EE) as materials,the influence of phosphorus deficiency stress on acid phosphatase (AcPh) isozymes was studied by IEF analysis. The results indicated that AcPh isozymes significantly changed (the bands or new induced bands) in both leaf and root tissues under phosphorus deficiency stress in comparison with that under normal growth condition (CK). In leaf tissue,at least 1 band induced by the stress appeared within low pH ranges. In contrast to that,no significant differences appeared in AcPh isozymes under both CK and the stress conditions within high pH ranges. However,at least 3 induced bands were found within the range of high pH,and only the enhancement of the bands was performed within the low pH ranges in root tissue.In addition,the physiological significance of these changes of AcPh isozymes under the stress was discussed.
