To protect their intellectual property in the overseas, SMEs shall fully understand the regional characteristics of intellectual property. As a prerequisite, SMEs shall make sure that they do have some specific intellectual property rights in the relevant country or region, and make sure whether their competitor has any specific intellectual property right. While intellectual property rights are the rules of markets, either to sue or to respond to other’s litigation, SMEs shall act on the basis of their economic interests.
