Objective:To evaluate programmed electrical stimulation(PES) in diagnosis of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT).Method:160 cases with PSVT were examined by PES.Results:Among 160 cases there were 78 cases (48.75%) with atrioventricular reentry tachycardia(AVRT),69 cases (43.125%) with atrioventricular node reentry tachycardia(AVNRT),6 cases(3.75%) with complex reentry tachycardia(CRT) and 7 cases (4.375%) with intraartrial reentry tachycardia (IART);PES can quickly distinguish all kinds of PSVT and detect the forming mechanism and reentry path;20 cases with OAVRT were treated with propafenone and 16 of them could not be induced to OAVRT with PES.Conclusion:PES is a valuable method of diagnosing PSVT.
