【Objective】 Through following up patients of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) who received radical radiotherapy from March 2003 to March 2005,calculate 5-year survival rate, free from local-regional failure survival rate(FLF) and free from distant metastasis survival rate(FDM),and evaluate the clinical efficacy of the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in Zhuhai City. Methods: 【Methods】 A total of 154 patients were followed up for 5 years. The patients of UICC/AJCC2002 stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,and Ⅳ were 12,40,82,and 20,respectively,and were followed up for 60-84 months after radical radiotherapy. The follow-up data of 5-year survival,FLF,and FDM were included in the study;and the factors of NPC survival, recurrence and distant metastasis were analyzed by Cox proportional hazards model.【Results】 The 5-year follow-up survival rates were 98% in the 1st year,88% in the 3rd year,79% in the 5th year.5-year FLF was 85.1% and 5-year FDM was 88.31%,respectively.All the long-term side effects after radiotherapy were not obvious.By Cox multivariate analysis, the data illustrated that clinical stage was still the most conspicuous factor affecting the 5-year survival rate.【Conclusion】 It was well controlled that the survival rate,FLF,FDM and long-term side effects after radiotherapy of the NPC patients from Zhuhai City who received radiotherapy and concurrent chemoradiotherapy from March 2003 to March 2005.
