Bioinformatics Analysis of Transcription Factors of mi RNA-21

【Objective】 To explore the structure characteristics and binding sites of transcription factors of mi RNA-21 including AP-1, STAT3, NFI1, CBP, EBP, TGF-β, BMP-6 and GFI1. 【Methods】 Physical and chemical characteristics, three-dimensional structure, subcellular localization, and binding sites were analyzed using the bioinformatics tools for transcription factors of mi RNA-21. 【Results】 Isoelectric point of most transcription factors are greater than 7.0. Aliphatic index analysis showed that EBP protein was hydrophilic and the others were hydrophobic. The instability indices revealed that most of transcription factors of mi RNA-21 were unstable. The secondary structures of corresponding all transcription factors were comprised of α-helix, random coil, and extended chain. Subcellular localization analysis implied that most transcription factors might exist in the nucleus. All transcription factor presents a hairpin structure in the level of tertiary structure, and six transcription factors were predicted for binding site. 【Conclusion】Tr anscription factors of mi RNA-21 have the typical characteristics of hairpin structure, which may contribute to regulate the transcription of mi RNA-21. Our results will contribute to the development of cancer treatment and drug design based on the mi RNA-21.
