Immune responses of mice to DNA vaccination prepared with VTS11 antigen of Taenia solium in swine

BALB/c mice at 2 months old were randomly divided into two groups and twice inoculated intramuscularly with different plasmids at the interval of 14 days. Group A was injected with VR1020, a eukaryotic expression plasmid, as control group. Group B was injected with VTS11, a recombinant plasmid containing a TS11 antigenetic gene of cysticercus cellulosae. Mice were bled on 0,7,14,21,28 and 35 days after immunization. The experimental results showed that the amounts of total IgG and specific antibody of the immunized mice were remarkably higher than those of the control group; the proliferative activity and the level of induced interleukin-2 bioactivity significantly increased in the lymphocytes of spleen from the immunized mice. Lymphocytes, macrophages and neutrophils of immunized mice have remarkably elevated in comparison with those of the control. These indicated that DNA vaccination with VTS11 significantly enhanced the humoral and cellular immune responses of mice,So TS11 gene could be employed as a hopeful immunoprotective gene in the further development of DNA vaccine against swine cysticerosis.
