Identification of root rot pathogen on Dracaena angustifolia

Root rot of Dracaena angustifolia Roxb.is a systemic disease.The diseased leaves of D.angustifoliachanged from yellow to brown,The xylems of the roots separated from the cortexes.The surface of the xylems covered white mold.The vascular bundles were necrosis with reddish brown.The diseased roots were brownish rot at later stage.The pathogen was isolated from the roots,purified from the infected D.angustifoliaand its pathogenicity was tested.Morphological characters,culture characters and rDNA-ITS sequence analysis indicated that the pathogen was Fusarium oxysporum Schl.
